A Global Epidemic
Chronic disease. The World Health Organization defines chronic disease as one not passed from person to person, like an infectious disease, but those of long duration and a slow progression of worsening symptoms. Heart disease, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes, and obesity, for example, are all classified as chronic diseases by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Here are the facts: -Chronic disease is responsible for 60% of all deaths worldwide. -Almost half of chronic disease deaths occur in people under the age of 70. -Around the world, chronic disease affects women and men almost equally. -The major risk factors for chronic disease are an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and tobacco use. -One-third of American adults and 17% of children and adolescents are obese. My goal is to prevent you from becoming part of these dreaded statistics which is why I invite you to attend my next Facebook class, Why You Need A Health Coach, on Wednesday, August 29th at 2:00 pm CDT. If the major risk factors for chronic disease were eliminated, at least 80% of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes would be prevented; and 40% of cancer would be prevented as well! During this experience, you will learn how health coaching can help you reach your optimal wellness and protect your from many common health issues!
Find Out What’s Missing
Traditional or conventional medical care is designed to treat symptoms of acute illness, such as a broken bone, the flu, or pneumonia. Unfortunately, chronic disease is on the rise and doctors don’t have the time it takes to help clients understand what this means and how to make meaningful changes.
Health coaches are to the rescue! Fortunately, many physician offices are recognizing the need for health coaches and have started providing onsite coaches to spend the needed time helping patients with holistic health choices. A health coach will take the time needed to understand your lifestyle, not just your symptoms. By getting to know each client, health coaches are better equipped to provide a personalized plan of action tailored to each individual. Health coaches help to fill the gap between doctors and patients by mentoring, motivating, and inspiring meaningful change!
Better Health Within Your Grasp
During this experience, I will be sharing a health coach’s role in your wellness. I will also be discussing the importance of preventative care, holistic health, and how you can benefit from working with a health coach! Health coaches have the unique opportunity to get to know their clients on a personal level in order to better help them achieve their health goals. They are supportive mentors who can guide you through behavioral changes, goal-setting, weight loss, food allergies and much more. I am personally passionate about helping others achieve their health goals. Nothing makes me happier than watching a client take the steps to succeed! Please feel free to invite the people you care about most to my Facebook class, Why You Need A Health Coach, so they can learn how to get their best health too.
